The Wharf culinary team led by executive chef Justin Rimmer, have a passion for creating the finest innovative cuisine using only the freshest seasonal ingredients.

Chef Justin's philosophy on food is driven by his passion to create inspirational cuisine designed with finesse and respect for the products. His building blocks are flavour, texture, aroma and design, "I love to use great New Zealand products and partner them with techniques and flavours from all over the world, then mould them with a modern palate in mind".

The Wharf has received great reviews from restaurant critics and amazing feedback since its opening transformation in November 2007, into a world-class venue offering an exquisite dining experience.

Justin is involved locally with the Salon Culinaire as a competitor and judge and internationally as a Guest Chef in Tokyo and Australia as well as being invited back each year as the prestigious Guest Chef onboard the Regent Seven Seas 6 star cruise lines World Voyage. He has cooked for many dignitaries including HRH Prince Charles and President Bill Clinton and more recently, Tyra Banks at the Wharf.
