Summer Wedding Trends at The Wharf
It's all about glamour this summer at The Wharf.
Latest trends have seen our glamorous brides in traditional dresses with big full skirts, lots of lace - and uber high heels. Even the guests are dressing to impress, with beautiful ball gowns and sharp suits in honour of the occasion.
Bold black bridesmaid dresses have also been spotted, however champagne gold and purple appear to be the more favoured colours this summer. With three or four bridesmaids, bridal parties are bigger too, numbering ten and more at some weddings.
This season the favourite choices in fresh flowers are roses, hydrangeas, the delicate lisianthus, and our "summer water collection" is the most popular table centrepiece. Complete with floating candles around the flowers, this is the perfect table accessory to a reception overlooking the sparkling water at The Wharf.
This summer wedding cakes are big too. Red velvet, white chocolate mud and lemon are the preferred choice, exquisitely presented on crystal chandelier cake stands.
Pleasantly surprising is the trend of grooms becoming more involved in the wedding planning. Turning up to all of the meetings with their own ideas - and taking responsibility for tasks too - we love this trend!

Colin Mathura-Jeffree & The Most Decadent Masquerade Party of the Century!
New Zealand's most fashionable man, Colin Mathura-Jeffree chose to celebrate his 40th at The Wharf.
Billed as "The Most Decadent Masquerade Party of the Century", the team from Orange Productions designed and installed spectacularly decadent touches to further enhance the environment of The Wharf.
Featuring a floral chandelier with a water feature, vibrant red fringe drapes throughout the Grand View, stunning lighting design, chandeliers on the Terrace and even Colin's intials on the Harbour Bridge - the venue was glowing with gold and red of the classic Masquerade colours.
While guests enjoyed the cusine and the champagne and cocktails flowed, a Shortland Street hunk performed a topless aerial acrobatic duet with his body painted partner.

Tamati's Wedding at The Wharf
So now that the exclusive has been covered in the pages of this week's New Zealand Women's Weekly...we can confirm that Tamati Coffey and his partner Tim Smith celebrated their civil union at The Wharf!
We highly recommend you check out the magazine soon for all the photos and the inside scoop on their stunning wedding. They make a lovely couple - and all of our team loved being involved and working with them on their special day.

All of our team at The Wharf are gearing up for a wonderful Christmas and a very special event between now and the New Year. Whilst we can't say much now - we do look forward to updating you all in the New Year!
